I.E.G.T - In Everything, Give Thanks
It’s Friday night and we’re all worn out.
From the hustle and bustle that the week has brought out
The work week's a blur, deadlines swirl, but we are all together in this fight.
Five days we grinded, the hustle reminded, we gotta make the paper tight.
“Thank God it’s Friday” that is what they always say
TGIF – A wishful thinking, a flicker of hope that rest is here to stay
But, in the end, it is just an endless longing
for a good day’s rest that is rapidly slipping.
What if, instead of trying to escape the mundane,
Instead of trying to endure the tedious,
and fantasize a day that you know is fleeting
What if you start looking at the mundane and the tedious
In a new perspective that is more abiding?
Manic Monday- Try your best to walk outside and breathe fresh air. Appreciate the traffic and use it as a time to pray.
Tiring Tuesday- It’s tiring and it’s not even half of the week yet. But hey, it’s okay, to relax just a little bit.
Drink tea and move forward on your day when you’re ready to face it.
Wacky Wednesday- When things are starting to get a bit crazy,
always remind yourself to live mindfully.
Stay in the present and focus on the now.
Say it again, say it out loud, let your inner voice resound.
Throwback Thursday- Precious memories are joyfully gleaming.
Cherish them and keep them, count them all as your blessing.
Freaky Friday- Oftentimes, this day carries surprises that can either make us or break us.
Expect it and allow it. Savor each of your surprises.
Sinful Saturday- You are what you consume.
Be mindful of the things you let in that may lead to your doom,
May it be physical, mental, or spiritual. Admit that you are frail.
The time is now, don’t let your sinful nature prevail.
Sabbath Sunday- Now THIS is the dearest,
Because THIS is more than just a day.
Jesus Christ say,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”
THIS rest for sure is the one that forever will stay.
You see, there is far greater shape
If you try to embrace it differently
From TGIF that is a momentary escape
To IEGT -“In everything, give thanks” which is better to keep.
